GPU-accelerated terminal emulator and multiplexer, line-by-line transliteration of upstream implementation; aims feature parity, adds typed polling and file-descriptor primitives with language-friendly result classes.
This is a Kotlin Multiplatform line-by-line transliteration port of wezterm/wezterm.
Original Project: This port is based on wezterm/wezterm. All design credit and project intent belong to the upstream authors; this repository is a faithful port to Kotlin Multiplatform with no behavioural changes intended.
This is an in-progress port. The goal is feature parity with the upstream Rust crate while providing a native Kotlin Multiplatform API. Every Kotlin file carries a // port-lint: source <path> header naming its upstream Rust counterpart so the AST-distance tool can track provenance.

https://github.com/wezterm/wezterm. It is the upstream project's own description and remains under the upstream authors' authorship; links have been rewritten to absolute upstream URLs so they continue to resolve from this repository.

This is a spare time project, so please bear with me. There are a couple of channels for support:
The GitHub Discussions and Element/Gitter rooms are better suited for questions than bug reports, but don't be afraid to use whichever you are most comfortable using and we'll work it out.
If you use and like WezTerm, please consider sponsoring it: your support helps to cover the fees required to maintain the project and to validate the time spent working on it!

Thanks to the wezterm/wezterm maintainers and contributors for the original Rust implementation. This port reproduces their work in Kotlin Multiplatform; bug reports about upstream design or behavior should go to the upstream repository.
The next source version uses io.github.kotlinmania.libc.time.StdDuration from libc-kotlin 0.1.10 for polling timeouts. A null timeout waits indefinitely; StdDuration.ZERO checks readiness immediately. The duration preserves unsigned whole seconds and fractional nanoseconds.
Operations return concrete result classes such as PipeResult, PollResult, and ReadResult. Read value and error directly from Swift. FileDescriptorError preserves the failure kind, system error code/interruption state, and descriptor context without exposing Throwable. asFile() and asStdio() own independent duplicated descriptors and must be closed.
This source is not released. Validate against the sibling source with ./gradlew --include-build ../libc-kotlin macosArm64Test jvmTest. The existing published dependency example above remains the last released version.
